Thalaivii: Makers Of Kangana Ranaut-Starrer Recreate Four Songs That Featured Late Jayalalithaa And MGR
Actress Kangana Ranaut’s fans are in for a surprise! Kangana Ranaut, who will soon be seen playing the role of former Tamil Nadu chief minister, late J Jayalalithaa in her biopic 'Thalaivii', will release a new track 'Teri Ankhon Mein' from the film on Monday. According to IANS, the makers have recreated four songs of the late actress turned politician, also featuring MGR. One of these tracks will be unveiled on Monday. These songs are said to be a tribute to Jayalalithaa by the makers. These recreated songs are Kannae Kaniyae and Enna Porutham from Rasiya Police 115 released in 1968, Ninathathai Nadathiyae from the flick, Nam Naadu from 1969 and Ninathen Vanthai from Kaavalkaaran released in the year 1967.

Kangana terms the late actress’ songs iconic for their pop culture touch. She said, “Jaya Amma's songs are significant because they are part of pop culture. This song is an amalgamation of those tracks.” “Jaya Amma and MGR gave 60 to 70 songs together. They worked together for decades, but we had to crack it in the span of four days. In a day, I would go through several looks and hairstyles. I wanted that magic to be authentic,” added Kangana.

Speaking about the shooting experience of these songs as well as the movie’s second half, Kangana said, “In her younger days, Jaya Amma had an hourglass body. But we were on the brink of shooting the second hour of the film. My director took it upon himself to make sure I was well-fed. His mothers handmade meals are brought in three tiffins.”

Directed by Vijay, Thalaivii will be released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on September 10, 2021, in theatres. ALSO READ: Adhyayan Suman Feels His Relationship With Kangana Ranaut Was ‘Toxic’; Says ‘It Was Very Difficult To Get Over’
